So, picture this: I had this wild dream of becoming a rapper. Yeah, I know, you can chuckle at that. But hey, along that winding road, I somehow ended up co-owning a music studio smack dab in Baltimore. And let me tell you, that journey introduced me to some seriously cool artists.

Now, here’s the kicker: I’m entirely self-taught. Keyboards? Taught myself. Guitars? Yup, learned those too. And mastering? Well, I figured that out without the luxury of formal schooling. Oh, and remember when Pandora was the ultimate place to get your music heard? Yeah, I managed to land mine on there when it was still a real feat.
Check out these tracks I’ve cooked up to showcase what I can do behind the scenes. First up, “I Can Feel It.” I snagged a sample from Jems’ “Falling for You” and went to town. My buddy Mark Bryant laid down some killer instrumentation, while I handled the sample loop, drums, and mastering.
Then there’s “That’s Life” by Jade Fox of Rebel Nation. Now, in my humble opinion, Jade’s a star solo artist, but hey, that’s a debate for another day, right? This one’s a whole new creation, with me handling all the keyboards and lead guitar, Mark on bass, and Donald Lloyd shredding the guitar solo and backing vocals. If you’re curious about the sample, it’s from the movie Gattaca.
Lastly, we’ve got Tina Mateo’s track “Poison.” Originally just a YouTube acoustic gem, I got my hands on it, tore it apart, and gave it a whole new musical makeover. While sneaking her voice back into the mix, listen closely, you might catch traces of her guitar. Oh, and because, of course, I couldn’t resist, I threw in a rap after the second verse. Tried to get Miss Mateo in the studio for a proper recording, but alas, that didn’t pan out. Still, I’m pretty darn proud of the technical wizardry it took to bring it all together.
